Mick was born in 1961 to two loving parents Maureen and Bert and 5 siblings, they lived at number 2 Russell House and in the early 70’s, as the family grew they moved into number 10. He remembers his Mum would always say jokingly Russell House was the posh Churchill Gardens. And like most kids in the area he went to Churchill Gardens Juniors and Pimlico Secondary (Pimlico Academy)
Mick growing up was always obsessed with music and spent hours in the hallowed halls of RecordsVille listening to American imports and albums
his pocket Money wouldn’t stretch to.
As the 80’s swung round Mick dabbled with a forming a band and in 1981 while totally embracing the growing Electronic music scene he met one of the
Gary Numan band and helped contribute towards a track called ‘Love Needs no Disguise’
This gave Mick some studio time to chase a dream and called himself Night Moves and got a Record deal within weeks after recording his track ‘Trans Dance’ while having some
small success in Europe but it was to be the U.S. and the New York Hip Hop scene that embraced the track so Mick travelled to New York and remixed the track under the watchful eye of producer Jay Burnett who fell under the Arthur Baker stable and had great success on the East Coast of America this is where Mick’s love for the 12inche Mix really evolved and in the late 90’s formed re-mix duo Sugarpussy with then partner Dom remixing some of his heroes such as The Human league, Boy George, Siouxsie and the Banshees
Mick now happily now plays a varied and sometimes dead odd remixes from classic 80’s through to Psytrance on Radio Free Pimlico on his show Mick’s Records Box.
